Protocol Strategy & Consulting Will Help Industry Stakeholders Navigate and Implement Emerging Broadcast Technologies
Protocol Group is pleased to announce the launch of Protocol Strategy & Consulting (PSC), a new division created to provide broadcasters, streaming platforms, rightsholders, and federations with expert consultation as they navigate the rapidly evolving landscape of broadcast technologies designed to increase audience engagement and to drive revenue.
“With technology providers entering the sports broadcast industry at record pace, broadcasters and rightsholders are becoming increasingly uncertain about which technologies to trust, and, most importantly, which ones will stand the test of time,” said Lowell Conn, President of Protocol Group. “Protocol’s deep understanding of broadcasters, streaming platforms, and rightsholders, combined with our transmission and production engineering expertise, gives us a unique vantage point to help clients select the right technology partners and support them through integration and beyond.”
PSC officially launches at Sportel Monaco 2025, which has increasingly become a hub for broadcast and rightsholder technology suppliers to showcase their innovations. The division, led by Ariel Shnerer, Protocol’s Director of Growth Strategy, is already engaged by broadcasters in key markets seeking support in areas such as interactive solutions, virtual branding, OTT development, live clipping, remote production, and more.
Before joining Protocol, Shnerer built extensive experience on both the broadcaster and rightsholder sides, serving as General Manager of Fight Network and SVP of Content, Distribution & Marketing at TNA Wrestling. This background has provided him with firsthand insight into the challenges facing broadcasters and sports property operators as they work to integrate new technologies while maintaining established workflows.
“Many broadcasters and sports properties around the world face ‘choice paralysis’ because there are simply too many technology vendors, each with different value propositions, even when their solutions address the same challenge,” said Shnerer. “Protocol Strategy & Consulting will help both new and existing Protocol partners identify and align with the right technology suppliers for their specific needs, and to achieve a successful outcome.”
PSC represents the next evolution of Protocol Group’s commitment to serving as a bridge between technology, media, and sports. By combining technical expertise with market insight, Protocol aims to help its global partners implement sustainable, revenue-generating strategies that enhance both production value and fan experience.
