OCTAPIXX LIVE MARKETS BOXING’S FIRST MAJOR EVENT OF 2014

2013 Fighter of the Year, Gennady Golovkin, Headlines February 1 Monte Carlo Clash

Leading boxing television rights distributor and sports marketing firm Octapixx LIVE is pleased to announce tremendous interest from international broadcasters for the Golden Gloves of South Africa-promoted February 1, 2014 Monte Carlo Night of Champions, boxing’s first major event of 2014. The telecast, live from Monte Carlo, Monaco and distributed by Octapixx LIVE, will be seen on television and PPV by millions of viewers from all over the world.

FIRST 2014 TILT FOR 2013 FIGHTER OF THE YEAR

Headlined by the WBA / IBO Middleweight Championship featuring USA Today and Ring Magazine’s Fan Favourite 2013 Fighter of the Year Gennady Golovkin (28-0, 25 KO) defending his title against Osumanu Adama (22-3, 16 KO), the event features 6 belts contested over the course of 5 fights in a stacked card that is punctuated by young and rising stars of the sport.

MULTIPLE BELTS AND RISING STARS

Golovkin-Adama tops a card that also features a WBA Middleweight Interim World Title (Australia’s Jarrod Fletcher faces a yet-to-be-determined opponent); an IBO Junior Flyweight Championship (Nkosinathi Joyi versus Rey Loreto); a WBA Welterweight Continental Title Fight (Roman Belaev versus Dean Byrne); and a return to Monaco by powerful cruiserweight Ilunga Makabu, whose opponent is not yet confirmed as two fighters, Pawel Kolodziej and Nathan Cleverly, have already withdrawn rather than face the sensational Makabu.

“It is unheard of for an evening of boxing to promise championship fights from top to bottom, but the Monte Carlo Night of Champions delivers,” says Octapixx LIVE Vice President Lowell Conn. “We are very pleased that broadcasters worldwide are clamouring to showcase boxing’s next iconic superstar, Gennady Golovkin, as well as the multiple championship fights that are featured in this excellent February 1 event.”
