PROTOCOL SPORTS: FROCH-GROVES CAPS HISTORIC MONTH FOR BOXING ON TV

Leading boxing television rights distributor and sports marketing firm Octapixx LIVE is pleased to announce that it has been selected to exclusively market the international broadcast rights for the upcoming IBF Super Bantamweight Championship match between Carl Frampton (18-0, 13 KO) and Kiko Martinez (31-4, 23 KO), taking place on September 6, 2014 at the historic Titanic Quarter in Belfast, North Ireland, United Kingdom, and promoted by Cyclone Promotions in association with Gary Shaw Productions, Sampson Boxing and Maravilla Box.

Rated as a “Five-Star Fight” by popular boxing reference website, www.boxrec.com, Frampton-Martinez is one of the most highly-anticipated fights in boxing as it’ll feature rising star and knockout artist Carl Frampton’s first world title challenge, while defending champion Kiko Martinez will have revenge on his mind, as he was knocked-out by Frampton in their first encounter, an all-out war that took place on February 9, 2013.

The stakes are even higher for both fighters as the Super Bantamweight division is now populated with some of the most exciting boxers in the sport, with big names such as Guillermo Rigondeaux, Leo Santa Cruz, and Scott Quigg presenting tremendous possible future match-ups for both winner and loser.

The Frampton-Martinez main event will top an undercard, soon to be announced, that will feature major domestic and international talent.

“With Frampton vs. Martinez we know what we are going to get, an unbelievable fight,” says Barry McGuigan, boxing Hall of Famer, former world champion and CEO of Cyclone Promotions. “The event will be an incredible spectacle, 16,000 spectators at the Titanic Shipyard right in the heart of Belfast. We are proud to be working with Octapixx LIVE, the leading content distributor in boxing, to showcase this momentous event to a global audience.”

“With a young rising star, a world championship match in a hotly-contested division, and the rematch of two fighters who engaged in a toe-to-toe brawl in their first outing, Frampton-Martinez has all of the elements to be a terrific fight and Octapixx LIVE is excited to be presenting it to broadcasters worldwide,” says Octapixx LIVE Vice President Lowell Conn. “2014 has been a banner year for our sport, and we are glad to have Carl Frampton and Kiko Martinez join Gennady Golovkin, Adonis Stevenson, Carl Froch, Martin Murray, Bermane Stiverne and the many more boxing stars whose fights Octapixx LIVE has marketed this year to broadcasters all over the world.”
