Protocol Sports Marketing Appointed Media Rights Agency for FIM’s World Sidecarcross Championship

Protocol Sports Marketing Ltd. is proud to announce that it has been selected as the exclusive worldwide media rights agency for the World Sidecarcross Championship.

Organized by the prestigious Fédération International de Motocyclisme, the World Sidecarcross Championship (WSC) has been held annually since 1980 and is the world’s premier Sidecar Motocross Racing tournament. Consisting of a driver and a passenger racing a 100-horsepower monster machine, Sidecarcross brings viewers the speed and danger of motocross while adding extraordinary stunts and viral video moments as the passenger works to keep the motorcycle balanced and on-course.

The 2018 Championship crowned the youngest champion in history – 22-year-old Marvin Vanluchene with his veteran passenger Ben Van Den Bogaart, a 4-time World Champion.

In 2019 and beyond, Protocol Sports Marketing will nurture the international broadcast growth of WSC. This season, there will be 14 Grand Prix events held in 10 countries across Europe, with 7 events available for live broadcast. Also available for broadcast is a 16-episode recap show, which will be delivered on the Wednesday following each Grand Prix event. The 2019 season began on April 7, 2019 in Lommel, Belgium for the first Grand Prix of the year and concludes on September 15, 2019 in Rudersberg, Germany.

Protocol Sports Marketing is thrilled to partner with the organizers of the World Sidecarcross Championship to bring this exhilarating property to platforms all over the world. “WSC is one of the most unique racing properties in the world, and we believe that it will enthrall racing fans worldwide,” says Protocol Sports Marketing President Lowell Conn. “Protocol Sports is delighted to have been entrusted by Martin Beňa and his team to distribute the worldwide media rights to World Sidecarcross Championship.”

World Sidecarcross Championship CEO Martin Beňa is excited about his organization’s collaboration with Protocol Sports Marketing. “Sidecarcross is my passion, and I am proud to have the team at Protocol Sports working with us to fulfill the potential of the World Sidecarcross Championship,” says Beňa. “We have an exciting year ahead, and we are confident that audiences worldwide will be captivated by all of the action. I am happy that Protocol Sports Marketing will help to bring this fantastic sport to a global audience.”
